- Biography
Originally from rural NS (my parents still live on a dirt road), I came to Halifax and completed a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from Saint Mary`s University and a Bachelor of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University. I have found a way to combine my love of biology and nature with my passion for teaching in environmental education. I am currently employed by the Sierra Club Canada-Atlantic Canada Chapter as their Elementary Environmental Education Program Coordinator and am an active member of the NSEN`s Environmental Education Caucus.
During the 2009-2010 school year, I brought environmental education programs to classrooms across the province that introduced students to life on our Atlantic Coasts and in our Acadian Forests. This fall I am piloting the Wild Child Nature Immersion Program (with support from EcoAction Community Grants and HRSB`s EXCEL Child Care Program).
When I am not in the office, I am most likely trompin` around in the woods somewhere or inside in a sun beam knittin'.
