Under 25? Join our Youth Advisory Committee!
The Sierra Club Canada Atlantic Canada Chapter was established in 2000, and since 2003 our environmental education programs have been our strongest component. Looking forward we want help with funding, expanding, developing, and evaluating our programing.
We've received funding to develop a youth advisory committee (YAC) that would help our environmental education staff to continue to deliver the highest level of relevant environmental education programs. Now all we need is you!
The aim of this committee would be to ensure our programming is both directed to and directed by youth, in keeping with Sierra Club's grassroots mandate. We are currently recruiting youth under the age of 25 to sit on this committee. Youth selected for the committee will gain valuable leadership skills, along with networking opportunities with other Atlantic Canadian youth and environmental professionals. It is expected that the committee will meet on a quarterly basis (four meetings per year) , the first meeting will be a retreat, while the others will be via teleconferencing.
