The Sierra Youth Coalition Celebrates Buy Nothing Day- No Purchase Necessary!

Ottawa, ON – The Sierra Youth Coalition (SYC), the youth arm of the Sierra Club of Canada, invites Canadians to take a break from the Holiday consumption craze to celebrate Buy Nothing Day. On November 26th and 27th, SYC members will commemorate Buy Nothing Day with a barter market, free fair trade coffee and tours of the Rideau Centre. The event will also focus on explaining the problems of over-consumption in our North American society.

Created in 1993 by the founders of Adbusters, a Canadian social commentary magazine, Buy Nothing Day has been celebrated in over 55 countries .... Read more »
