Enbridge extends bidding on Bakken pipeline expansion
Enbridge Inc. said Thursday it was extending a bidding deadline for producers on its proposed Bakken pipeline expansion program due to shipper requests.
The projects in the program will add another 145,000 barrels per day capacity by 2013 to systems in North Dakota and Saskatchewan, and already have sufficient commitments from major shippers to proceed through the regulatory process.
However, other potential shippers have expressed interest in flowing their volumes on the proposed expansions, therefore Enbridge has extended its open season to Nov. 30 from Oct. 29, said Stephen Wuori, president of liquids pipelines.
"A number of customers have requested additional time to secure the necessary approvals to enable them to make a commitment. We welcome their participation and therefore are extending the open season to accommodate their requests." Wuori said.
