Wild Child in Pictou County Style!

Welcome to installation two of the Wild Child blog!   We are so excited to be able to offer the program in another part of the province!  My name is Anna Marie Galvin and I am facilitating Wild Child Nature Immersion in Pictou County.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Wild Child Nature Immersion Program; it is a program that seeks to allow children to explore, be curious, and learn more about the wild spaces in their immediate local community.  We strive to arouse wonder for nature and support positive experiences for children in the living natural world around us.

In Pictou County, I will be visiting two afterschool child care facilities four times per week over the course of six weeks.  During my visits, I will use games, art, and exploration to help teach these “wild children” about nature! With the program, the children will be able to explore a local wild area, where we will learn together about the creatures and species we find.

My hopes for this program are that each child feels as though they have learned something about their local environment, and that they feel inclined to share this excitement and knowledge with their family and friends of all ages!
